Fast Install for Ceramic Window Tint in Riverview, Florida

Blocking as much as 96% of the infrared heat that turns your car into an oven while you’re at work, but doesn’t interfere with your phone like metallic options. Ceramic is the tint Florida car owners need.

130° F Inside Your Parked Car. The Cause is Mostly Invisible

Leave your car in an uncovered lot all day and the inside can hit 130° F. But it’s not sunlight doing it; most of that heat is caused by infrared radiation. It’s invisible to our eyes, and it passes through glass like it wasn’t there. It does the same with cheap tints too.
That’s why you see so many people get the darkest possible tints, open their car after work and stand there in confusion, trying to work out why it’s still turned into an oven inside. It’s not darkness that stops infrared light; it needs something more substantial.
That’s where ceramic film comes in. It uses microscopic ceramic particles to reject that infrared heat, suspending them inside the film so they protect the entire glass area. Ceramic film blocks the heat because of those particles, not how dark it is. In fact, you can have a near-clear ceramic film that still stops all that heat. That is why ceramic is the perfect choice for Florida, because it is the perfect shield against the heat.

What does Nano-Ceramic Film Block?

UV, Infrared, Solar Heat – It blocks them all.

99%

UV Blocking

UV is the cause of dashboard cracks, faded leather, and sunburn on a long drive. Carbon tint handles this as well as anything, even ceramic.

Up to 96%

Infrared Heat Rejected

Infrared is the heat that you actually feel through the glass. Basic dyed film stops at around 15%, carbon at 40%. This is the number that sets ceramic apart, and why, if you can, it’s the tint to have in Florida.

Ceramic v Carbon v Metalized V Dyed

Heat rejection compared across all four film types.

When we talk about carbon today, it can refer to two types of film, and they are very different products. The problem is, many tint shops will just say carbon, and never explain which one they mean. You really need to know, because the cheap version and a premium carbon tint are not the same at all, so you should always ask.

Relative price $ $$ $$ $$$
Dyed film is the cheapest tint anyone can put on your glass, and it will degrade and turn purple fast here in Florida. Metalized film copes with our heat much better, but the metallic content stops your phone signal, GPS, Sunpass, and even your keyless entry from working. Carbon sits in the middle and is a great option if ceramic is beyond your budget. However, if you can stretch to it, Ceramic is the only one that really stands up to the heat, offers great clarity, and won’t stop your Sunpass from working.

How Much Does Ceramic Tint Cost in Riverview?

It costs more than other films, but how much more? It depends on the vehicle, and here’s what impacts that price:

The Base Price:

How Much Glass

SUVs have more glass than a sedan

Which Windows

Front 2 is cheapest, whole vehicle the most expensive

Standard or Nano-ceramic Film

The nano-ceramic costs more, but offers higher performance

Additional Costs:

Removing Existing Tint

If there is tint already fitted, we have to remove it

Curved Rear Glass

Takes longer to fit and get good results

Windshield Film

The largest piece of glass in your car, and also the hardest to fit

Panoramic or Glass Roof

The large, curved panel takes more time than your side windows when fitting.

What Doesn’t Change the Price:

The shade you choose doesn’t make a difference to the cost. Your chosen film costs the same whether it’s a 50% or 5% tint, so always pick the one you really want.

How to Tell If You are Getting the Real Deal Nano-Ceramic Film

Ceramic and dyed film tints look exactly the same when installed. We’ve helped out many owners who paid for ceramic and got dyed film instead, and most didn’t know until the film began to fade to purple.

01

Ask to see the roll before it is cut

Real film will have the manufacturer’s label on it, showing the product line and VLT. If they won’t show you, there is probably a reason.

02

Ask for a heat lamp demo on your film

Don’t settle for their display board. Make them show you using the actual roll going on your car.

03

Ask for the warranty, registered in your name

Manufacturers' warranties on ceramic films are registered to the vehicle and the owner. If nothing is registered, there is likely no manufacturer’s ceramic film involved.

04

Check if the invoice names the film

Look for an actual brand or product name, not simply ‘ceramic tint’.

05

Test your phone signal before you leave

Get in your car, check for your phone signal, GPS, or Sunpass signal. Ceramic tint contains no metal and does not interfere, so if you get a problem, the tint is something else.

Choosing Your Tint Shade

The shade of tint you want and the quality of the film used are two separate things. An almost clear shade of ceramic tint will still reject 80% of heat, because it is the ceramic doing the work, not the color. The shade of tint is mostly about privacy, what is allowed under Florida law, and how much night driving you do.

Florida Window Tint Laws

Florida regulations outline how much light each window must allow through, in a measure called VLT. The limit includes both the glass and the film, with glass usually being around 75% before any tint is added.

Ceramic Tint for Teslas and Electric Vehicles

For any electric vehicle, one of the quickest ways to eat through your range is to have the aircon switched on. In Florida, this is a bigger deal than almost anywhere else because it gets so hot, and the sunshine is so unrelenting. Ceramic film prevents the interior from heating up to begin with, so you can get away without having the aircon on all the time.
But that’s not the only way ceramic is perfect for electric vehicles. Think about the technology: from GPS tracking, using Bluetooth and your phone as a key, over-the-air updates and the rest. Metallic tint interferes with those signals; you really can’t put it on an electric vehicle. But with ceramic, there is no metal, and no interference.
Finally, one of the most common complaints about Teslas that we get is the huge roof. Its nicve to have, but it’s also the biggest heat source in the car. Ceramic tinting is essential for a Tesla in Florida.

Clear Ceramic Windshield Film

The biggest piece of glass on your car, the windshield is angled to catch the sun all day, heating the cabin ready for your journey home. You can’t put dark tint on it for obvious reasons, but a 70% VLT film is hardly even noticeable, yet thanks to the way ceramic works, it still blocks as much heat as any dark tint will. You’ll really feel the difference at the end of a day if you have it done.

Our Ceramic Tint Process

4 Steps from beginning to Privacy; here’s what we do:

01

Glass prep

Trim and panels prepped. Glass cleaned inside and out, including under all seals.

02

Computer-cut Patterns

Patterns are plotted for your exact make, model, and year of vehicle for a perfect fit with no need for cutting on the glass.

03

Application

Rear glass film heat-shrunk to the curve before installation for a tight, seamless finish.

04

Curing

Most vehicles are completed in a few hours. After that, you must leave the windows up for a few days to allow the adhesive to fully cure. You may see hazing or water pockets; this is perfectly normal and will dissipate.

What Riverview drivers say

Honest words from the people who know Riverview best — our drivers.

The day after I got the ceramic tint fitted, I got to my car at about 4 pm. It had been out in the sun all day, and for the first time in years, I could sit in it comfortably.
Marcus T.
They quoted for XPEL film by name, showed me the actual roll they would use on my car, and gave me a warranty registered to my vehicle. That’s the best tint service I’ve ever had.
Priya N.
I had XPEL XR Plus fitted to my Tundra. It’s a solution to the heat buildup problem that actually works. I was hoping for a bit cooler, but the reality is it’s much cooler than I thought, and it’s made such a difference.

Ceramic Window Tint FAQs

Everything you need to know before you get started.

Is ceramic tint worth the extra cost over regular tints?

For Florida, yes, it really is. Regular tint blocks about 15% of the heat your car is exposed to when it's sitting in the sun all day. Ceramic blocks 90% or more, and that means you can sit inside and drive it without melting. Ceramic tint is good for about ten years too, which is three or four times longer than cheaper options. However, if you don’t leave your car in the sun all the time, and drive in the evening or early morning, then a cheaper option might suit you better.

How much does ceramic window tint cost in Riverview?

As with all our tint installations, the exact price depends on the vehicle size, the number of windows, and whether there is existing tint to remove. Send us the exact model, make, and year, and photos of existing film, if any, and we’ll give you an exact quote for the work.

How do I know I’m really getting ceramic film?

You should always ask to see the roll of film before cutting, and ask for a heat lamp demo on the roll. Make sure the brand and product name are on your invoice, and ensure you get a manufacturer's warranty registered to your vehicle and your name.

Will ceramic tint block my phone signal, GPS, or Sunpass?

No. Ceramic tint has no metal content and does not affect any wireless signals. It was developed to replace metallized tint for this reason.

Does light ceramic tint still block heat?

Yes. The heat blocking is carried out by the ceramic particles, and they do not affect the darkness of the film itself. A 70% LTV roll of ceramic film has the same heat blocking properties as a 15% one.

How dark can I legally go in Florida?

28% VLT on the front side for all vehicle types. Rear glass depends on the vehicle. 15% for sedans, 6% on an SUV, van, or truck.

Will tint make night driving harder?

It can do, if the shade is too dark for what your eyes can still see through comfortably. Ceramic film is clearer than a dyed film at the same level of darkness, so it is easier to see through at night. We’ll help you find the right shade for your needs before starting an install.

Can ceramic tint go over my existing tint?

No. The old film has to be removed first, because otherwise it cannot adhere properly and you are left with the air bubbles of the previous film.

How long before I can roll my windows down?

You need to leave it a few days, especially in humid weather, which is most of the time in Florida. You might see a haze or small water pockets during this curing process; they’ll disappear on their own, and it's completely normal.

What is the difference between a ceramic tint and ceramic coating?

They are completely different products. Ceramic tint is a film applied to your glass to cut UV and reduce heat entry into your car. Ceramic coatings are protection for your paintwork. They are often confused because of the ceramic part.
